Every engagement begins the same way.
I start by understanding the leader.

Maybe you are the leader of a business in trouble — cash is tight, the bank is asking harder questions, and you are carrying it mostly alone. Maybe you want to grow and are not sure how — sales have plateaued and you cannot see where the next stage of growth will come from — or growth has already arrived and the business is straining underneath it. Or maybe you have built something over decades and are starting to think about what comes next — a sale, a handoff to the next generation, or simply stepping back.
Whichever of these you recognize, the work starts in the same place: your goals. Do you want to hand the business to your children, sell to a strategic buyer, restore it to health, grow it to the next level, or step back from the day-to-day? Sometimes those goals are clear. Often they have never been said out loud, even to yourself. My first job is to surface them, test them, and help you sharpen them. They may evolve as the work progresses — that is normal. What matters is that we establish clarity, and then build a deliberate path toward it.
What you can expect from me.
I advise the way an owner would want to be advised — because I have been one. I have owned, operated, bought, and sold businesses like yours, and every situation gets judged on its own facts. The way I work is simple:
I tell you the truth, early. Including the uncomfortable parts. Bad news does not improve with age, and you will never get a softened version of reality from me.
I work from your actual numbers and your actual people — not industry generalities. I will spend time in your business, not just in your conference room.
I separate fact from opinion. You will always know what the data shows, what I think it means, and what I recommend you do about it. Those are three different things, and I keep them distinct.
I work alongside the advisors already in the room — your accountant, your attorney, your banker. I complement what they do; I do not replace it.
You will know where you stand. My views come to you in writing, in plain language, ranked by what matters most — so you can decide and act.
I also use modern tools, including AI, to work faster and see more in your numbers — but judgment is not delegated. The advice is mine.
Engagements are defined and time-limited. When the work is done, I will tell you that too.
